Five: The Mares/Dacor HUB

When I asked the staff at Captain Don’s Habitat what was the absolute stupidest piece of equipment they’d ever seen a guest bring with him, I already knew how most of them would answer: The Mares/Dacor HUB.

If you are not already familiar with the HUB, it represents a unique and innovative solution to a totally nonexistent problem — the fact your regulator system and BC are not a single, integrated unit.

Like most “solutions” to non-problems, the HUB not only eliminates the benefits inherent in the fact your regulator and BC are not one single piece of equipment, it creates additional problems of its own.

So, what exactly is the “HUB?” »
