When “Lifetime” Warranties Aren’t
When you purchased your regulator, odds are that among its features was a Lifetime Limited Warranty. The way such a warranty works is:
- You have your regulator serviced or inspected by an authorized dealer at least once every year.
- So long as you maintain this one-year service/inspection interval, you pay only for labor; parts are always free.

- The original owners have traded up to something newer.
- Few, if any, owners continue to maintain their warranty coverage for this long.
- After a period of time, it is no longer economically feasible to make replacement parts for regulators when only a handful remain in service.
Still, if you have a 15-year-old AquaLung or Scubapro regulator that you have maintained conscientiously, you will find parts and service readily available. With one notable exception…
